Ute Competition Categories

  • 4 x 4 Rural – Judges will consider any ute with constant or part time 4WD. Judges will be looking at your set up: bullbar, lights, mudflaps, tools and tool boxes, recovery equipment, communications equipment, wheels, towing capabilities and presentation – and anything that relates to off-roading. Quantity and size count! This ute is set up to be practical, not a show pony.
  • B n S / Rural – Judged on the best represented country or B & S styled ute. If your ute is plastered with stickers and has over-sized mud flaps, big bullbar, aerials, rural customisations (beer dash mat), lights, country accessories (e.g. swag), country music capabilities, presentation or is just a good country ute, then this is the category for you.
  • Chick’s – Judged on the quality and quantity of the female touch - ute must be owned by a female. The ute does not have to be “girlie” but it must be obvious that it is owned by a chick. Factors that will be considered by the judges are Chick Stickers, Chick Accessories (e.g. seatbelt covers), Interior and Exterior Presentation, Artwork, Chick Customisations (e.g. soft toys), Sign writing, Chick humour, Overall Style.
  • Street 2 x 2 – Judged on the best presentation and the overall appeal of two wheel drive Street vehicles. Factors taken into consideration will be performance, engine bay and interior modifications, the paint quality and finish, artwork, interior and exterior presentation, wheels, unique features.
  • Street 4 x 4 – Judged on the best presentation and the overall appeal of four wheel drive Street vehicles. Factors taken into consideration will be performance, engine bay and interior modifications, the paint quality and finish, artwork, interior and exterior presentation, wheels, unique features.
  • Restored - Original – To enter this category the ute must be 25 years or older. The ute should be restored to its original condition (as far as possible). Judging will be on the basis of engine, gearbox, interior and exterior presentation, attention to detail, adherence to original features, paintwork, wheels, badges. Points will not be deducted for adding safety features or conforming to legal requirements (e.g. seatbelts).
  • Restored - Modified – To enter this category the ute must be 25 years or older. After-market period accessories and general overall condition are important. A fully restored ute with your own touches added is allowed. Judging will be on the basis of engine, gearbox, interior and exterior presentation, attention to detail, unique features, paintwork, wheels, badges.
  • Work / Trade – Judged on the ute best fitted out as a workhorse – consideration will be given to the number and size of toolboxes, accessories (e.g. Racks and Hiabs), signage, interior and exterior presentation, fitness for purpose, communications equipment, tools or trade in evidence and features that make your work horse unique.

All utes are automatically entered in Best Overall, Encouragement, Furthest Travelled, Most Lights, Most Stickers and Plain Jane.

  • Everyone is to have fun.
  • Entrants must be parked in the designated area by 12:00 pm at Hall Polo Ground (location of Hall Markets).
  • Utes will not be allowed to enter the ground before 11:30 am.
  • This is a static display – vehicles are not to be moved unless directed.
  • All utes must be registered and street legal.
  • Any hooning activity will mean disqualification of vehicle and driver.
  • Prizes will be presented at approximately 3.45 pm.
  • The judges’ decision is final.
  • Organisers and officials do not accept any responsibility for loss, injury or damage to vehicles, persons or property.
  • Photos taken are allowed to be used to promote Hall Ute Competition and Family Days
  • Owners are to comply with official instructions and are to park where directed.
